Steve Thompson
BSc (Hull), DPA (London), MA (Newcastle), PhD (Newcastle)
Emeritus Professor
Department: Industrial EconomicsE-mail: Stephen.Thompson@nottingham.ac.ukHas published over 100 academic papers in the fields of managerial economics, labour economics and strategy, usually involving the application of applied econometric techniques to firm-level data. Following a PhD and several early papers exploring the M-form hypothesis, I worked on issues involving organisational form and performance in contexts that included mergers, buyouts, multinational enterprises and financial mutuals. This developed into the estimation of labour demand and productivity models. This has been interspersed with studies of pricing behaviour, competitive rivalry and an ongoing interest in the determinants of entry and exit behaviour in a variety of market contexts.
The following lists my publications from 2014 to the present day.
