Venga is an assistant professor in industrial economics and director of curriculum at NUBS. Venga is passionate about Education and Student Experience (ESE) and has been the recipient of the Staff Oscar Awards (2018, 2019) and the Lord Dearing Award (2019). Prior to joining the UK campus in September 2023, Venga spent 11 years working at the Malaysia campus where he held several school and faculty ESE leadership roles including Exams Officer (UG), Programme Director (UG), Interim Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning (Faculty). He is a Senior Fellow of Advance HE (UK).

Venga's research interest is primarily in the area of development, with a focus on issues in Migration, Displacement, Inequality, and Education. His current work involves the study of Educational Inequality in Sri Lanka; Female Labour Migration from Sri Lanka; the effects of forced-displacement in Nepal, West Bengal, and Malaysia; entrepreneurs with disabilities in ASEAN; state regulation and well-being, and research on pedagogy.
