Dr. Ahmed recently joined the Finance, Risk and Banking group at Nottingham University Business School. Prior to this, he worked as an Assistant Professor at Warwick Business School. Waqar has an outstanding academic record with distinctions in all his educational endeavours.
Areas of ExpertiseCorporate Finance, Valuation, Pay out policy, Investments and trading strategies, Behavioural biases and decision making.
Waqar is a fellow of AdvanceHE (formerly HEA) and has received excellent teaching evaluation scores and feedback. In recognition of his outstanding teaching contributions to postgraduate programs, he is awarded with a number of teaching excellence awards.

Waqar's research interests broadly cover areas in corporate finance, executive compensation, corporate disclosures, behavioural finance, corporate fraud, mergers and acquisitions and insider trading. His current research is focused on firms' payout policy and insider trading. He has presented his research in top finance and accounting conferences.
