Our degrees prepare you for an extensive range of careers, from all aspects of management or finance to setting up your own business.
While the exact blend of subjects depends on the particular course, all our undergraduate degrees will prepare you for a career in business and management, and/or accounting and finance.
We also help you develop skills in qualitative and quantitative analysis, critical thinking, verbal and written presentation, information technology, and group working.

Placement Year

Our Professional and Academic Development module and strong support from our Careers Service ensure you are well prepared and help connect you with top employers, including Unilever, IBM, Atos, GSK, PWC, and Aldi.

Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) Future Insurer Scholarship
A new scholarship for students with aspirations to work in the insurance industry is now available to those applying to study at the University of Nottingham.
Applicants will need to enrol on one of the following three-year courses offered by Nottingham University Business School, which are accredited by the Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII):
- BSc (Hons) Finance, Accounting and Management
- BSc (Hons) Industrial Economics with Insurance
- BSc (Hons) Industrial Economics
- BSc (Hons) Management
The CII’s Education and Training Trust Scholarship for Future Insurers will provide financial support totalling £16,500 to each of the students. Successful applicants will be awarded £2,000 per year towards their tuition fee, as well as £3,500 per year for living costs. There are four scholarship places available to those starting degrees in September 2023 and four in September 2024.

Study abroad
Most of our courses offer you the opportunity to gain a global perspective by studying at our campuses in China or Malaysia, or with other partner institutions across the world. You can either spend a whole year abroad or one semester. You also have the option to attend a summer school outside of your degree programme.
