Port Resilience & Big Data Ecosystems Exploring Information Sharing between stakeholders in the UK Maritime Ports Sector for Port Resilience Planning

Research Details:
This PhD project is focusing on exploring the sharing of information among stakeholders for resilience planning in the UK's Maritime Ports Sector. This focus has been encouraged and supported by policy makers from within the UK's Department for Transport (DfT). And, this PhD is a joint effort between the DfT and the University of Nottingham's Business School while also being supported and sponsored by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).

The method of Action Research has been proposed and accepted in liaison with the DfT to iteratively determine the research questions and solutions. To supplement Action Research, the methods of Participant Observation, Document Analysis and Interviews have been proposed to generate rich data to understand the deeper meaning behind sharing information for Port Resilience.
