Dr Torbor’s research is situated within the broader areas of work, organisation, and (in)equality. Much of her research foregrounds the voices of those underrepresented in mainstream organisational discourse, contributing to critical conversations on 'difference,' often from intersectional perspectives.
Additionally, Dr Torbor is increasingly interested in exploring how everyday organisational routines, rituals, and practices perpetuate privilege and/or oppression in organising.
Her current research projects examine several critical areas, including women’s issues related to authenticity and identity at work, the experiences of individuals with disabilities in professional settings, and the socialisation of migrant workers.
Dr Torbor’s research contributes to WEORG priorities around equality, diversity and inclusion at work (particularly in tackling discrimination and promoting EDI at work, issues of migrant work, careers changes and transitions) and also the changing nature of work and employment (particularly in the digital era).
