Julie Blant - working here
Julie Blant, Head of Business School Postgraduate Careers, has worked within the School for nearly 20 years. She leads a team of consultants, providing careers advice and guidance to students on our MSc, MBA, Executive MBA and research programmes.
“I have found that Nottingham University Business School has always been committed to developing initiatives that support student employability,” Julie said. “This approach has meant that my team have had the opportunity to try new things, see what works and offer a great service to our students.”
The Postgraduate Careers team are involved in all aspects of student experience - from supporting admissions activities, inductions for students, teaching career development programmes on the MBA and MSc programmes and providing one to one support for students and alumni. In addition, the team have established close relationships with national and international companies to ensure that our students have the best development opportunities.
“One of the most satisfying parts of my role is seeing students grow and develop,” Julie explained. “I am very proud of what our students go on and do – we have an internationally diverse student population, and when they say how much of a positive impact our service has had on them, it’s an amazing feeling.”
Julie also contributes to university and professional networks – both nationally and internationally. In July 2022 she was awarded the President’s Medal by the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services in recognition of her contribution to the Association. The team has also been awarded a prestigious Lord Dearing Award for their contribution to enhancing student experience.
“The Business School offers a very supportive work environment, and my colleagues are very supportive,” Julie added. “Working at a university that has so much impact on research, and with graduates that go on to do so much – makes me proud to work at Nottingham University Business School.”
