Richard Major, Vigence Limited - Help to Grow: Management

Richard Major, Director of Vigence Limited, completed the Help to Grow: Management course at Nottingham University Business School in 2025.

The Help to Grow: Management course supports small and medium-sized businesses in the UK, equipping business leaders with knowledge and skills to help their organisations to develop, grow and thrive.

Vigence is a business and technology consulting organisation that delivers solutions for businesses which enhance their interactions with customers, partners and suppliers. The company helps its clients to build technology solutions, whether their business goal is to improve customer understanding, increase loyalty and retention, build incremental or new revenue streams, or realise cost savings.

Richard said he chose to enrol on the course because:

"We have not focused on growing our business, despite several re-inventions. The issue is we were focused on delivery and so marketing activity took a back seat and so for me, the marketing content on the course was by far the most useful.

"The course has shown me that we need to change our business structure, focus on responsibilities and get the marketing hard-yards done. If we succeed, we will grow and thrive but if we do not then we will continue as we are; missing helping more businesses. I feel that this course has pointed us firmly in the direction we need to go to succeed."
