Research summary

Background:

The overarching aim of this project is to develop interventions that address the inflammatory mechanisms of ageing, which are exacerbated by social deprivation and contribute to premature frailty. Our interdisciplinary approach integrates microbiome and proteomic data from various dietary supplementation and physiotherapy studies and assesses the feasibility and acceptability among socially deprived groups through qualitative research. This research has the potential to improve the quality of life for older adults and, mitigate premature ageing, frailty, and eventually fractures and death.
