Advisory Panel Members

Adrian accepted the position of Chair of the ICCSR Advisory Panel in May 2009.
Most recently Adrian was Director, Corporate Social Responsibility at BT where he led a team of 25 people focused on ensuring the company had as positive an impact on society as possible. In his previous role at BT as Director, Customer Communications, he masterminded high profile advertising such as the Maureen Lipman ‘Beattie’ and Bob Hoskins ‘It’s good to talk’ campaigns. Adrian is a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin and from the Advanced Management Programme at the Harvard Business School. He is married with three grown children and lives with his wife Hilary in a converted barn in the Weald of Kent.

Amanda Jordan joined the ICCSR Advisory Panel in 2007.  She is joint Chair of Corporate Citizenship. She founded the SMART Company in 2001 after a successful in-house career spanning the voluntary and private sectors. In the 1990s she spent 10 years developing and managing an award winning CSR programme for UK Banking Group NatWest. Whilst at NatWest Amanda was an advisor to the UK government on business and social exclusion issues and the development of CSR.  Amanda focuses on high-level strategic advice to a wide range of clients including PWC, Sodexho, and ExxonMobil. 

Amanda has a particular interest in the role that business plays in public policy development and has written and edited a number of publications particularly focusing on the boundaries of ‘corporate responsibility’. As well as advising clients on the importance of focused, relevant and measurable CSR programmes Amanda presents on these issues at conferences in the UK and abroad. Amanda’s interest in responsible business behaviour extends into the field of self-regulation. She is the Non-Executive Chair of IWF (regulating illegal content on the internet in the UK) and until recently a Non-Executive Director of the Banking Code Standards Board. In addition she is a member of the ICAEW CSR Committee.  Amanda’s not for profit roles include Chair of the National Literacy Trust, Trustee of the Baring Foundation and Governor of Mountview Theatre School.

Michael joined the Advisory Panel in May 2012.  He was former Director, Head of KPMG’s CSR programme in KPMG Europe and leads its developing programme across Europe, Middle East and Africa.  Reporting directly to the Europe Board he is responsible for the policy development and implementation of environmental management and community engagement across all activities of the firm and more widely leads the drive for KPMG to become a more responsible and sustainable business. This includes everything from stakeholder engagement through to transparency and reporting.
Mike is also a Visiting Professor in Finance & Accounting at the University of Strathclyde and Trustee at The Passage, which helps homeless people to transform their lives.

Will Oulton joined the Advisory Panel in May 2012.  Will is the Global Head of Responsible Investment at First State Investments based in the UK.  Previous to this he was the Head of Responsible Investment for Mercer Investments across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, advising institutional investors on environmental, social and corporate governance matters. He has more than 10 years of experience working in sustainable and responsible investment. Before joining Mercer, Will was the director of responsible investment at FTSE Group, where he led the development of FTSE’s global sustainability indices and services including the FTSE4Good, Environmental Markets and Carbon Strategy benchmark indices and was involved in the development of the FTSE ESG Ratings service. In February 2012 he was appointed vice president of the European Sustainable Investment Forum (Eurosif) and, in the same year, was also appointed to the board of the UK Sustainable Investment Forum. He is also a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, an Honorary Lecturer at Nottingham University Business School’s International Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility and sits on a number of investment industry advisory committees.
