The University of Nottingham is proud to host the Inaugural 'Africa Summit'. The Summit will create a platform for key issues and practical potential solutions to these issues which will be discussed over a one-day event. These issues and solution will be discussed and debated by prominent leaders in business and governance in Africa with opinions from the audience.

Theme

The theme of this year’s summit will be ‘Where is Africa Going?’

With this theme, the summit aims to be bold and not only talk about the potential of Africa but also the practical steps that can be taken to harness this potential. The summit will identify key milestones necessary to achieve on the road to efficiency and development as a continent  based on the African Development Banks’ ‘High Fives’ identified for development in Africa:

  • Feed Africa
  • Integrate Africa
  • Industrialise Africa
  • Improve the quality of life of Africans
  • Power and light up Africa

Delegates

A mix of students and corporate individuals from businesses within the area are expected. The event is open to the public by invitation only.
