Business School alumni reunite in Thailand

Around 40 Nottingham University Business School alumni and prospective students came together for some good food and conversation at the 'First Connection' informal networking event held in Bangkok on May 8th.
Originally scheduled to take place earlier this year, the event had to be postponed due to the unrest and tension currently shrouding the country, but nothing could dampen the spirits of those attending on this occasion.
The University has particularly strong links with Thailand and the Business School continues to attract significant numbers of Thai students interested in areas such as banking, finance, entrepreneurship and supply chain management.
The event, which was held at the Intercontinental Hotel in central Bangkok, not only provided the opportunity for former students of the Business School and the University to reunite, but also to share invaluable experiences of Nottingham with current applicants and potential future students for the coming academic year.
“I have been coming to Thailand for years and built close relationships with our alumni during that time so it was really great to see so many familiar faces, despite the obvious difficulties the country is going through at the moment”, said John Peberdy, Emeritus Professor of Enterprise at Nottingham University Business School and host of the networking event. “It‘s genuinely satisfying to hear the personal and professional success stories of individuals you taught and mentored, and very pleasing that they want to help the future generation of students through the benefit of their own experiences.”
