Leadership forum attracts more than 500 senior managers

A leadership forum, co-organised by Nottingham University Business School China, Harvard Business School and Harvard Business Review, attracted more than 500 senior managers to Taipei, Taiwan.
The Asia Leadership Forum, which took place on Friday 24 October, discussed how to be a successful leader in Asia and how to increase Taiwan’s competitive advantage.
The sold-out event attracted senior managers from various sectors and featured high-profile keynote speakers.
Strategy guru Professor Michael Porter, from Harvard Business School, spoke at a session on creating a competitive Taiwan, urging it to improve its fundamentals to attract more foreign investment.
Professor Carl Fey, Dean of Nottingham University Business School China (NUBS China), also shared his views on what it takes to be a successful leader in Asia, focusing on the importance of being innovative and providing suggestions to the audience on how this can be achieved. Professor Fey’s interactive presentation style gave attendees a glimpse of the teaching typical of NUBS China.
Other speakers at the event included: Professor Gregory Slayton, Visiting Professor at Harvard Business School and former US Ambassador to Bermuda; Wang Lixing, CEO and Chief Editor of Harvard Business Review (Taiwan); Zhang Shanzheng, from the Ministry of Science and Technology of Taiwan; and David Chu, Chairman and CEO of Georg Jensen.
