Choosing your career and preparing for the transition to the workplace can be a daunting prospect, but having an University of Nottingham alumni supporter to guide you along the way will help you feel more confident.
One-to-one support programme
The Future Ready: One-to-one Support programme is designed to increase your career readiness through tailored workshops and one-to-one sessions with an alumni supporter.
During your one-to-one relationship with your alumni supporter, you may want to disucss topics such as narrowing down your career ideas, preparing for work experience or gaining an insight into the workplace.
Your supporter will share their knowledge, skills, and experience and answer your questions to build your career confidence and ease your transition into the workplace.
Getting involved
The programme will be open to 50 students and will run for five months from February to June. It is open to first year and penultimate year students who were in receipt of free school meals at school.
February
The month will focus on building your confidence, help with your career planning and setting goals during weekly workshops with the Careers team.
March to June
The following four months will be dedicated to the one-to-one relationship with your alumni supporter.
Being matched to an alumni supporter
You will be matched to your alumni supporter based on a comprehensive application process, in which we will ask about motivations, personality and skills you would like to develop.
Our alumni supporters will also follow the same application process. We will review all the answers and personally match you to your alumni supporter.
