Where do courses take place?
In term one, most sessions take place in classrooms on our three UK campuses and others are on Microsoft Teams. All the details can be found on our online booking system.
How do I book onto a course or consultation?
You can book a course by using our online booking system. We have provided some guidance to make booking courses simple.
If you experience any issues with booking a course or consultation, please email us, with these details for each course you want to book on to:
- Course name
- Start date
- Start time
You will then be added on to your chosen course(s) or consultation(s) and a return email will be sent confirming your place.
If you cannot see the dates or times, then please email us and we can send you the dates and times for the courses, and you can choose the course you would like.
I get an error message when I try to book a course, what should I do?
We are sorry that you are having trouble, please use this step-by-step guide to help solve your problem.
Step 1 – Reload the page
Sometimes the issue is just how the page loaded. Before doing anything else, we recommend refreshing the page, and if that does not work logging out and logging back in again.
Step 2 – Is the course full?
If the course says “add to waiting list”, the course is full. You can add yourself to a waiting list, and you will be emailed if a space becomes available.
Step 3 – Have you completed registration?
Please make sure that you have completed registration for your academic course, as this may be why you cannot book onto the course. This means you need to complete registration online and in-person.
Step 4 – I’m still having trouble. What’s wrong?
If you cannot see the dates or times, please email us and we can send you the dates and times for the courses, and you can choose the course(s) you would like.
If you can see the dates and times of the courses, but you cannot book onto a course, please email us with all these details for each course that you want to book on to:
- Course name
- Start date
- Start time
I have signed up for a course, but it hasn't appeared in my Moodle, what do I do?
You need to self-enrol on the Moodle courses.
You can find the Moodle links for each course on the course list page.
Select the course you are interested in from the list and click “you can access course materials on Moodle” for the course you wish to enrol on. It will take you straight to Moodle. Log into Moodle using your university username and password and the course materials will be there for you to access.
I have booked an online consultation but haven't received a link, what do I do?
Confirmations of consultations do not include a link to a meeting. Instead, tutors send out individual calendar invites or meeting invites. These are often done closer to the consultation date, sometimes on the day of the consultation, so please do not worry if you haven’t received a location or email yet.
Where/how do I send my work for consultations?
Once you have booked on to a consultation, a confirmation email will be sent to you with the tutor's email address. Please send your work to that email address.
My course is online but I can't join the team, why?
These courses do not have a team that you can join. Instead, we provide a link to a meeting. In your course confirmation email, you received a link for your class. At the time of your class every week, you use the link to join the meeting. The link will not work outside of this time.
How do I cancel my course?
If you wish to cancel the course before it has started, you can cancel it using this guide.
If you wish to cancel a course after it has started, please complete the course cancellation request form.
You will need to complete a new form for every course you wish the cancel. Our team will reply to you by email to confirm your cancellation.
I signed up for an in-person course, can I join online?
No, we have tried to provide both online and in-person courses, but you cannot attend an in-person session remotely.
I am going to miss a day of my course, what do I do?
Please email us with these details for every course that you are going to miss:
- Course name
- Start date
- Start time
Please include any necessary evidence for your absence, this means that we can excuse your absence.
In addition, we can try and find alternative days for you to go to, if you want to. For example, if you are going to miss a course on a Thursday due to an appointment, we can see if you can join the same course on the Friday temporarily. This means you do not miss out. However, if you cannot join any other courses, you can find all the materials on Moodle.
You need to self-enrol on the Moodle courses. You can find the Moodle links for each course on the course list page. Click “you can access course materials on Moodle” on the course you wish to enrol on.
The course I want to book on is full, can I still join?
Courses often fill up at the start of term, but often spaces will become available a week or two into the course. If you cannot sign up for the courses that you want, it is worth checking the booking system later to see if there are any spaces.
How can I contact you?
