Miss Wanling Zhou and Miss Xue Wu with Professor Mike George.
The first students to graduate on the jointly taught East China University of Science and Technology(ECUST)/University of Nottingham dual BSc(Hons) degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Sciences have successfully completed their courses.
Both Miss Wanling Zhou and Miss Xue Wu have achieved first class degrees from the University of Nottingham having completed the first two years of their course at ECUST in Shanghai, followed by a year at the University of Nottingham, and then a year at the Shanghai-Nottingham Advanced Academy on the ECUST campus where they undertook research projects to help advance solar cell technology.
These were jointly supervised by Professors from Nottingham and ECUST.
Miss Xue Wu will return to the School of Chemistry in Nottinghamin the Autumn to begin a PhD in the group of Professor Mike George (also pictured) funded by the China Scholarship Council whilst Miss Wanling Zhou has secured a place on a Masters course in Public Health at Imperial College of Science and Technology in London.
