Literary evening with Slovene author Miha Mazzini, March 2016

In March 2016, the department hosted a literary evening with Slovene author Miha Mazzini, exploring two of his novels in English translation, Otrostvo (Childhood) and Izbrizana (Erased). The question at the heart of the evening’s discussion was whether an appreciation of the cultural, historical and political events central to the books was necessary in order to be able to enjoy reading them in translation.

The evening was held thanks to generous sponsorship by the Centre for Slovene as a Second and Foreign Language at the University of Ljubljana and the Embassy of Slovenia in London.
