Screen devices are everywhere, sitting in our homes and our pockets, giving us paths to almost unlimited storyworlds. In her inaugural lecture, Professor Liz Evans reflects on the value of screens and the stories we watch on them. She will explore how changing technology has seemingly reshaped our experiences but also how the scholarly traditions of audience research invite us to pause and let audiences’ own stories reveal the enduring consistency in the power and meaning of screen stories.
