Event title
- Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC) Conference
Location
- Leicestershire County Council, Council Chamber, Glenfield
Date
- Thursday 14 November 2024, 9:45am to 1pm
Event details
This Research Skills conference is hosted by the Leicestershire Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC).
In the context of HDRC, Leicestershire County Council (LCC) is working together with local universities and other partners to improve community health and wellbeing by using research to support evidence-based decision-making.
Health inequalities are impacted by many factors in local community surroundings such as where people live, their educational qualifications, their employment status, and their relationships. These factors are also known as wider determinants of health.
Research into those determinants is key to discovering how LCC and its partners can improve population health and reduce inequalities through the services LCC and those partners deliver — including their wider role in the community.
This event will showcase some of the health and wellbeing-related research being undertaken within LCC and beyond — featuring LCC staff and their research partners.
The event is open to all LCC staff not only interested in learning about ongoing research in the areas of health and wellbeing across the county, but also curious about research more generally — including learning about how to go about planning a research study.
Amanda Hanton will represent the Visioning a Creative and Cultural County (VCCC) project team with a poster presentation.
Attendees will have opportunities to connect and network with other event delegates around shared research interests and to develop potentially new research collaborations.
Convened by the Leicestershire Health Determinants Research Collaboration, Leicestershire County Council.
