City as Lab offers a fresh approach to digital research, connecting researchers, communities and local partners in collaborative projects that tackle real-world challenges in the Nottingham city region. Using Nottingham as a dynamic living laboratory and working with communities, City as Lab brings people together to create and test new ideas, tools and technologies to address local challenges.

Inclusive Financial Technology (INFINITY)
INFINITY exists to catalyse the next generation of university-inspired financial technology start-up ventures. The Hub will create an agile pathway for commercialisation of fintech research, taking early-stage research-inspired commercial propositions on a journey to being realised as live commercial prospects.

The Human Flourishing Project
The Human Flourishing Project provides free psychotherapy to the people of Nottingham. It is an independent and self-funded clinic with research links with the University of Nottingham, aiming to promote flourishing for all and to make a real difference to the psychological wellbeing of people in the local community. Being based at Castle Meadow Campus makes the service much more inclusive and accessible for clients, being only one bus journey from anywhere in Nottingham and with ground floor rooms.

The King's Trust
The King's Trust is on campus, their East Midlands Hub is here to support local young people, giving them the skills and confidence to overcome barriers and move toward positive outcomes. The King's Trust believe that every young person should have the chance to succeed. They help young people from disadvantaged communities and those facing the greatest adversity by supporting them to build the confidence and skills to live, learn and earn.
Connect Nottingham
Connect Nottingham is a new community research hub in the Central Building at the heart of the new Castle Meadow Campus. From Summer 2025, Connect Nottingham facilities will include a cutting-edge immersive room, a research café/restaurant, a shop and activity spaces. We will offer a relaxed, non-intimidating venue for local people to interact – by simply sharing a coffee, engaging with each other through structured sessions and workshops, embarking on a learning journey via interactive activities or contributing to our latest participatory research.
