Welcome to NCI’s first Mandarin Corner of the new academic year!
This time last year none of us had ever heard of Covid-19. But the pandemic has transformed so many aspects of our lives now. Restrictions to social activity and radical changes to our routines have presented challenges to us all.
In this Mandarin Corner, we would like you to talk about what you have done during the pandemic, and in particular, what has helped you cope with the disruption. Did you find new hobbies or restart old ones? Have you become a classic movie expert? Have you discovered life-changing books? Perhaps you have a strategy for coping with uncertainty you can share? Whatever it is you would like to talk about, one of the most important activities for all humans – meeting new people and talking to them - is here at Mandarin Corner!
This event is organised for UoN or NCI evening class students who have recently joined the language partner programme, which aims to pair up English-speaking and Chinese-speaking students to practice spoken Chinese and English. So there will be opportunities for attendees to have small group discussions. Hopefully, by the end of the session, you will have found or got a potential language partner lined up!
