Sunday May 23 saw over 50 Mandarin teachers and TCSOL students from both the UK and China attend an online lecture organised by the Nottingham Confucius Institute and Fudan University. We were proud to welcome Professor Wu Zhongwei and Ms Xu Jing from Fudan’s School of International Cultural Exchange, to deliver a lecture entitled “The Interface of Online Teaching and Task-based Teaching”.
The lecture began with a model lesson given by Ms Xu, exemplifying in detail how to design and deliver a comprehensive Mandarin lesson for beginners using task-based approaches. The lesson was followed by a talk from Prof Wu who explained the theoretical basis of task-based teaching and how to implement it in online, offline and blended teaching scenarios. Prof Wu stated “Teaching online and offline both have their own merits and teachers should try to use the strengths and avoid the weaknesses of each approach". He also said "Whether employing human-computer interaction or interpersonal interaction, the key is to handle the interaction between expression of the content and language forms”. He further added that "Chinese teaching in the context of 'Internet Plus' involves model innovation. It is a technical issue, a systemic issue, and even more of a theoretical issue."
The event was chaired by NCI co-director Mr Hao Wu and lasted two hours. It was extremely well received by the attendees. “It was really useful to find out about the evolution of task-based teaching over the COVID period and how to actually put it into practice,” commented one participant. “Professor Wu and Ms Xu were such brilliant teachers. I would love to learn more from them!” commentd another. Several attendees also thanked NCI for organising the event and expressed the wish to attend more events like this in future.

英国诺丁汉大学孔子学院成功举办“在线教学与任务型教学接口”的讲座

2021年5月23日，英国诺丁汉大学孔子学院成功举行在线讲座“在线教学与任务型教学的接口”，共有50多位老师和同学参与其中。
本次讲座邀请到复旦大学国际文化交流学院吴中伟教授和许静老师。许静老师以《体验汉语》初级教程第十课《苹果多少钱一斤？》展示了一堂初级汉语综合课的设计。许老师从教学对象、教学特点、教学过程、教学重点等方面详细分享了任务型教学在该课的设计和操作。
吴中伟老师对“在线教学与任务型教学的接口”进行了理论阐释。吴老师从“互联网+”时代的教学、“互联网+”背景下的课程模式、任务型教学模式在混合教学中的应用几个方面探讨了“接口”理论，并提出了进一步思考。吴老师最后总结了三点：“线上线下，各有所长，应扬长避短，最好能相辅相成”；“无论是人机互动还是人际互动，关键在于处理好表达内容和语言形式的互动”；“‘互联网加+’背景下的汉语教学，涉及模式创新问题，不仅仅是技术层面的问题，也是一个系统性层面上的问题，更是一个理论层面的问题”。
此次讲座理论与实践相结合，通过实践直观地了解任务型教学法“用中学”的这一基本理念，也通过理论阐述了实际教学中执行该教学法的优点及必要性。
