Friday 4 November saw over 60 Nottingham staff, students and local residents take part in the first Mandarin Corner of the Autumn term at the Si Yuan Centre, home to Nottingham Confucius Institute. This was the first in-person Mandarin Corner event since Covid started nearly three years ago. It was great to see people get together and bond over mahjong, chess and other Chinese board games.
Check out our video here to see some of the highlights!
The bi-weekly Mandarin Corner events are organised in partnership with CSSA with the aim of providing the opportunity for people who are interested in Chinese language to meet new friends, practice Chinese and develop an understanding of Chinese culture in a fun, relaxed atmosphere.
Two more Mandarin Corner events have been planned over the next few weeks:
18 November – Peking Opera Face Mask Painting
2 December - Tea Ceremony
Refreshments provided. Admission is free and all are welcome.
Limited spaces are available. Please book early at https://nci-mandarin-corner.eventbrite.co.uk to avoid disappointment.
