The Raleigh Reminiscence Roadshow was held as part of the ‘Celebrate Cycling’ day held at the University of Nottingham’s Jubilee Campus (formerly the site of the Raleigh and Sturmey-Archer factories). Despite a wet and windy start – which meant that some of the events had to move indoors – the day was well attended and the Roadshow proved to be extremely popular. A lot of archive material has already been gathered about Raleigh and the people who worked there. Photographs of the old factories and their employees were on display – visitors were asked if they could identify faces. Many former employees came forward to volunteer their memories (something to be followed-up in future projects) and visitors were asked how they would like to see the project moving forward; an area that is likely to be the subject of an ‘All Our Stories’ bid to HLF.
