Description

The Centre for Research into Ideas and the Study of Political Ideologies (CRISPI) will be hosting its first event of the 2022-23 academic year.

The Contemporary Political Philosophy strand of CRISPI will be hosting Tom Parr from Politics and International Studies at Warwick for a talk entitled ‘Dampening Enthusiasm for Workplace Democracy’.

Outline

Should we defend democracy in the workplace? In this presentation, I distinguish and evaluate four arguments in support of these arrangements, contending that each faces serious challenges. I conclude that one of these arguments is successful, but that the support for workplace democracy that it justifies is highly limited.
