2024 Future of Ideologies Speaker Series Announced

The Centre for Research into Ideas and the Study of Political Ideologies (CRISPI) is delighted to announce the return of the Future of Ideologies speaker series for 2024.

The series will be hosted 5-6.30pm (UK time) every Wednesday, from 31 January to 27 March. Each session will consist of a 45 minute presentation followed by a 45 minute Q&A.

  • 7 February – Balša Lubarda (DAMAR Institute) - Book launch: Far-Right Ecologism: Environmental Politics and the Far Right in Hungary and Poland
  • 14 February – Jan-Werner Müller (Princeton University) - ‘Architecture’s power’
  • 21 February – Jason Blakely (Pepperdine University) - Book Launch: Lost in Ideology: Interpreting Modern Political Life
  • 28 February – Stefanos Geroulanos (NYU) - Book talk: The Invention of Prehistory: Empire, Violence, and Our Obsession with Human Origins
  • 6 March – Jonathon Catlin (Rochester) - ‘Koselleck and Catastrophe’
  • 13 March – Léonie de Jonge (Groningen) - ‘Eating Extremism: How the Far Right Politicises Food’
  • 20 March – Max Fenner (Cambridge) - ‘Ecology and Scarcity in Murray Bookchin's Early Work’
  • 27 March – Olga Sabelfeld (Bielefeld) - ‘Comparing Comparisons: Semantics of Welfare Policies in Postwar German and British Parliaments’
