Summary:
Through this paper, the aim is to present some of the latest preliminary results from the excavations carried out by the Amykles Research Project in the Amyklaion sanctuary. We will focus on the 6th and 5th century BC, which corresponds to its main monumentalisation phase, which reshaped the whole site. While the history of research on the site shows a major interest in the so-called "Throne" temple of Apollo, recent excavations shed new light on the pottery and small votive material of the Archaic period, in particular of the 6th century.
All are very welcome. Free to attend.
