UoN cements Nottingham’s status as the top Higher Education institution for team sport in the UK.
This year, BUCS (British Universities and Colleges Sport) Big Wednesday – one of the biggest sporting events in the university calendar - was hosted at Loughborough University and welcomed over 2,000 of the UK’s top student athletes to compete for national titles across 16 sports.
The Green and Gold took home six Championship wins in:
- Women’s Hockey (won 2-0 against Birmingham)
- Women’s Tennis (won 4-1 against Loughborough)
- Women’s Table Tennis (won 3-0 against Durham)
- Women’s Water Polo (won 12-10 against Durham)
- Men’s Table Tennis (won 9-5 against NTU)
- Men’s Fencing (won (2) 113-113 (1) against Durham)
UoN were also runners up in Women’s Wheelchair Basketball, Women’s Lacrosse, Men’s Volleyball and Men’s Lacrosse. Take a look at the full list of results.
