Safety information for NET tram travel

Friday, 16 October 2020
With Nottinghamshire now classed as a High Risk area we are asking the students and staff of our community to stay at home where they can and limit the spread of the virus.

However, we know that not everyone can stay in and some may have to take public transport for important journeys. It’s important that those who do take public transport follow the appropriate guidelines and rules for keeping yourself and the other members of our Nottingham community safe from the spread of COVID-19. Below you will find some guidance and information from the Nottingham NET Trams team about their facilities and using their trams safely at this time.

The NET trams teams are doing everything they can to ensure that trams are clean and safe for customers and as we approach the weekend we would like to ask you to play your part too, by following the simple steps below when travelling with us.

Remember that wearing a mask on public transport is a legal requirement (unless of course you are exempt). Please plan ahead and make sure you have one ready. Also, there are specific times of the day when more people might be using the tram network, including around the 10pm curfew. Try to avoid this time if you can.

During peak times, when it may be harder to maintain social distancing on board, you could always look to use other forms of public transport. NET run a frequent service and it won’t be too long until the next tram arrives.  If you see that the tram is busy, please wait for the next one.

Measures like these will help us and our community here in Nottingham, for more information from NET visit their website and for all the latest Coronavirus information remember to visit and bookmark our Coronavirus page.
