The semester two summer exam period will take place during the first three weeks of June, with the grace period ending on Monday 17 May.
The exam period will commence on Tuesday 1 June and end on Friday 18 June. As in previous years, assessments will be scheduled from Monday to Saturday during this period.
The majority of exams will take place online, unless they need to take place in person to meet professional accreditation requirements. If this is the case for you, your school or department will inform you directly, if they have not already done so.
As previously communicated, we have reintroduced the five-working-day grace period for many coursework assessments in semester two. The grace period will apply to all eligible assessments with deadlines that run from the start of the Spring Semester (Monday 1 February) until two weeks (10 working days) before the start of the summer exam period.
This means that the grace period will only apply to eligible assessments with deadlines up to – and including – Monday 17 May. For example, eligible assessments due on Monday 17 May can be submitted up until Monday 24 May before any penalties for lateness apply. If a student with this deadline has a support plan allowing them a week’s extension, the grace period would take their deadline to Tuesday 1 June. This includes the bank holiday that falls within this period as a non-working day.
The grace period end date minimises overlap between the completion of coursework assessments and the start of the exam period. This is designed to help you manage your time and assessment schedules.
You may submit an extenuating circumstances claim to request an individual extension for an assessment not covered by the grace period. However, you should consider the impact of that extension on the management of your work during the exam period.
The university recognises religious observance in relation to exams, and you may submit a Religious Observance Form if this applies to you.
