Work is beginning on a number of temporary hubs across our campuses to help account for the space lost to social distancing regulations.
Temporary undercover structures are being installed across University Park, Jubilee Campus, Sutton Bonington, Derby Medical School and Queens Medical Centre.
The hubs will provide you with alternative places to go between face-to-face teaching and on-campus activities. By increasing the amount of covered space available, we can all ensure we adhere to social distancing guidelines.
These hubs will offer extensions to catering facilities and act as overflow dining halls – with some of them being bookable for specific activities. Many will have power points, a small amount of furniture and access to WiFi.
Please note that you will still be expected to adhere to health and safety measures when using the hubs – you will need to wear face coverings, maintain social distancing and adhere to hygiene practices.
Hubs will be installed in the following locations:
University Park Campus
- George Green Quad
- Coates Road (between L2 and L3)
- Trent East Car Park
- Portland Patio
- Mooch Patio
- School of Architecture Quad
- Dining Hall extensions at Cripps, Rutland, Derby and Cavendish Halls
- There will also be temporary coverings at Willoughby and Hugh Stewart Bar, and around the entrance to David Ross Sports Village
Jubilee Campus
Sutton Bonington
Derby Medical School
Queens Medical Centre
- Medical School Car Park, QMC
Check the University maps if you are unsure of any of these locations. We look forward to welcoming you onto campus.
