Description

Our crown, whether adorned with hair, head covering, or neither, is an integral and obviously visual part of our identity.

Inspired by the Halo Code, the School of Pharmacy and Faculty of Engineering have commissioned two student photographers, Bersun Kilinc and Saifullah Muhammad, to develop a public exhibition at Pavilion Café, Lakeside Arts, as part of the Diversity Festival in June 2022.  The exhibition will champion the rights of staff and students to wear their natural hairstyles and head coverings. It seeks to raise awareness of racial and religious discrimination, whilst celebrating the hair and head coverings of our Black, Asian and Ethnic Minority and diverse religious communities.

No booking required - just drop in!

There will be a drop in launch event at the Pavilion Café on Tuesday 14th June from 5pm-6pm.

The exhibition will then continue throughout the festival and will remain at Lakeside throughout the summer.  A digital version of the exhibition will also be made available.
