Most networked IT services use the same university password.
About your password
When you change your password for one service, your password will automatically change for other services too.
Please allow 15 to 30 minutes for your password to update on all systems.
Note: Some services have their own passwords which cannot be updated via IT Accounts e.g. the Unix service.

How do I change my password?
I know my existing password
- Open IT Accounts, under Existing Users click Login and enter your university username and current password
- Click Change My Password
- Follow the instructions to set a new password
Note, you cannot reuse an old password.
- Click Change Password
- Click Sign out in the top right-hand corner of the window

I have forgotten my password
- Open IT Accounts, under Existing Users click Login
- Click the link under the Next button that mentions 'forgotten your password'
- Click Forgotten Password and enter your university username
- Click Search
- If you have previously set your password questions and answers you will be prompted to answer three of your four questions
- Once you have done this, click Check Answers and follow the instructions to change your password
- To close IT Accounts, click Sign out in the top right-hand corner of the window

Avoiding problems with your password
Set your security questions and answers
The IT Accounts service allows you to set four questions and answers that you can use should you forget your password.
- Open IT Accounts, under Existing Users click Login
- Enter your university username and current password, then click Next

- If you have already set up your questions and answers you will go straight through to your Account Profile.
If you haven't set up your questions and answers IT Accounts will ask you to enter four of them.
Click Save Answers and then click Continue and you will be taken to the Application screen
- Click Sign out in the top right-hand corner of the window
How to change your security questions or answers
- Login to IT Accounts with your university username and password
- Under Home items, click Set Password Reset Prompts. Your questions will appear on screen.
- Click Clear Answers to set new security questions and answers.
- Enter four new security questions and click Save Answers and once you have made your changes
- Then click Continue
- Click Sign out in the top right-hand corner of the window
