Please be aware that we expect that the role will be on-campus support and we therefore expect all applicant to be available for on-campus work.

  • Hourly pay is over £12.00 with an additional £1.45 holiday pay (as of May 24)

  • Joining the programme is a great way to gain employed experience and could be a real asset to your CV

  • The exact number of shifts, locations, etc. is currently unknown as our start of session support is planed over the summer.

Here’s what you’ll do

Following comprehensive training, you’ll become an Smart Bar Assistant ready to offer support to other students on a range of IT services, including, connecting to the Wi-Fi, Registration (Nottingham Hub), Microsoft 365, using the university online services (Portal, Remote Desktop), printing documents, etc.

Here’s what you need

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and experience of team working
  • Knowledge of using Windows and macOS (desirable)
  • Knowledge of using latest smart phones and apps
  • IT literate and familiar with a wide range of IT services offered by the university, including Microsoft Teams
  • Excellent timekeeping and ability to work within frameworks and procedures
  • Registered as a student at the University of Nottingham for the duration of the programme
