The School of Economics at the University of Nottingham is delighted to present this lecture in celebration of International Women's Day.

Five different speakers will cover a range of pertinent topics. The titles of their presentations are as follows:

  • Dr Markus Eberhardt: “Women are hardworking, men are brilliant? Evidence from the economics job market”
  • Dr Trudy Owens: “Women’s expectations in the job market are changing: a study of millennials to boomers”
  • Prof Abigail Barr: "Social norms and money-hiding by wives in sub-Saharan Africa"
  • Dr Valeria Rueda: “The Suffrage Movement and Women’s Mobilisation into Politics: Evidence from the 1913 Pilgrimage”
  • Prof Silvia Sonderegger: “Gender effects in the battle of the sexes: a tale of two countries”
