Come and meet Vic Crooks, Admissions Tutor for the secondary PGCE history course. Vic will discuss how to apply for teacher training and start yourself on the path to developing exciting historical enquiry led learning through which children encounter history in meaningful and engaging ways that make a difference to their understanding of the world.
This lunch-time session will explain the course structure, content and the support you will receive whilst training and as an Early Careers Teacher (ECT).
More information can also be found on the History PGCE course on our teacher training website.
In the final year of her BA History course at the university, Danni Jackson attended one of these sessions showcasing the Secondary PGCE History course and said "I was immediately sold by the kindness and clear passion shown by Vic Crooks and secondly, the clear accreditation the university had received for their PGCE course over the years." This session, combined with her love for the city of Nottingham and the university itself helped Danni make her decision to stay here to start her teaching career journey and she completed the PGCE in June 2023 and began her first teaching job as a qualified teacher in September.Read Danni's alumni profile
