Description

A Science Education Interest Group event

As part of our commitment to our partnership schools, we are inviting colleagues in schools across the partnership, ITE science students and ECTs to join us for the upcoming Science Subject Interest Group (SIG) webinar. This is an opportunity for professional development, discussion and focus on our work as partners in supporting the development of PGCE students.

Dr Rupert Knight, whose area of research, expertise and interest is classroom talk, will start the session with a presentation about oracy in general and sharing some strategies for developing oracy within lessons. After the keynote talk, we will then begin to start thinking about what ‘disciplinary oracy’ in a science context might mean, look like, and how we might develop this in our practice.
