Lord Dearing Awards Successes

Congratulations to School of Education colleagues who will be receiving a 2022 Lord Dearing Award.

The Lord Dearing Award Scheme acknowledges the world-class contribution made by university staff to creating a learning environment which is nurturing as well as challenging, creative and innovative. School of Education colleagues regularly appear on the annual list of winners.

In 2022 an individual award has been given to Nuala Byrne - Course Director for the Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE) courses.

A team award has also been given to the Initial Teacher Education team, led by Stef Sullivan. The award is for all staff working on our primary and secondary PGCE courses and follows on the back of retaining our outstanding rating from Ofsted earlier in the year.
