In June the School of Education hosted a delegation from Zhejiang University (ZJU) for discussions on how our two universities can collaborate in research, teaching, and PGR supervision, and specifically how we can work together under the auspices of the UNESCO Chair in International Education and Development.
Following on from this visit a return trip to China in July was funded by the university’s International Research Collaboration Fund (IRCF).
Professor Volker Wedekind, Professor Juliet Thondhlana, Dr Lucy Cooker, DrTingting Yuan and Dr Yuwei Xu visited seven universities between them:
- Shanxi University
- Beijing Normal University
- Zhejiang University
- Zhejiang Normal University
- University of Nottingham Ningbo Campus
- East China Normal University
- Shanghai Normal University
It was an extremely productive visit, with a lot of interest in various forms of collaboration including staff mobility, student exchange, research, summer schools, and academic weeks. Colleagues taking part in the visit will be following up on these opportunities over the forthcoming weeks.
In many cases, the University of Nottingham was the first to send a delegation to visit in person after the covid pandemic, and this was much appreciated.
