Biography
Natallia joined the Centre for Research in Educational Leadership and Management in April 2023. Prior to this she had been Senior Research Associate at the University of Cambridge Faculty of Education, since 2012. Much of her research has been concerned with education leadership and education policy in transitional societies, but she also has a broad interest in systemic education reform, inter-agency/school-to-school collaboration and partnership, leadership development, and inclusive leadership for equity and social justice.
At Cambridge she worked with colleagues at Nazarbayev University's Graduate School of Education in Astana, Kazakhstan studying schools in that country that were implementing a large-scale education reform. This research has informed national education policies and served as the basis for capacity-building work throughout the country. It was reported in the book Mapping Education Change in Kazakhstan (Cambridge University Press, 2023).
In addition, Natallia acted as international consultant for UNICEF in designing and piloting an early warning system to prevent school dropout in Kazakhstan. This led to the development of practitioner guide for social pedagogues and educational staff. Natallia is highly committed to supporting real-work impact of research.
