Biography

Dr Simin Ghavifekr is Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership and Management in the School of Education, and a member of the Centre for Research in Educational Leadership and Management (CRELM), University of Nottingham. She has joined the school on March 2022. Prior to this, she was an academic staff member at the Department of Educational Management, Planning & Policy, Faculty of Education in the University Malaya, Malaysia. In recent years, her research works and publications have contributed to supporting the broad concept of leadership and Management development and practice in educational organisations for both k-12 and Higher Education settings particularly through practice-based inquiry. She has supervised many postgraduate students in both PhD and masters-level studies in the field of educational leadership and management. Simin has been a consultant, Reviewer, external examiner, invited keynote speaker or research director in many countries. Simin is the founding editor of the Malaysian Online Journal of Educational Management (MOJEM) (Scopus indexed by Elsevier) and served as the journal's Editor-in-chief and the main Editor since its establishment on 2013 until October 2021. She is collaborating with many international publishers such as SAGE, Taylor's & Francis, Springer, Routledge, and Emerald as article editor, advisor, reviewer and consultant. So far, Simin has presented her research outcomes in various international conferences in countries such as Canada, Spain, Japan, South Korea, Turkey, Indonesia, Cyprus, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, the Philippines and Malaysia. Her main research interest is on aspects of leadership, administration and management in educational settings.
