Bath Quays Sustainable Brewery

The ethos of the scheme is to create a sustainable brewery at a key gateway site in Bath that references the design language of the site’s industrial heritage and takes advantage of the adjacent natural resources, establishing a contextual relationship with the River Avon.

The design seeks to combine an industrial aesthetic with community spaces through a contextually led design focused on promoting views and interaction between key spaces.

Unit 1B explores the theme of ‘continuity and connectivity’, with a particular focus on addressing how we integrate our work within the physical fabric and spatial configuration of our cities. Our work seeks to introduce contemporary interventions while acknowledging the past through research into a range of historical, physical, cultural, and social ‘continuities’, ensuring the architecture we produce supports and enriches the society it serves.
