Graduate Research Assistant at Michigan State University

The University of Nottingham is one of the best schools to study engineering in the UK. Also, the UoN is strong in transportation infrastructure engineering and sustainability which aligned with my interest in transportation engineering.

 

What did you enjoy most about your course?

It was the way the modules were structured such that it was applicable and practicable. There were different instructional materials from lecture notes to videos that made the courses enjoyable. 

What were your lecturers and fellow students like?

My lecturers were friendly and welcoming. You could always send them a mail to ask questions and they reply almost immediately. I had a tutor that was supportive and nice. Other students were friendly and ready to help with any difficult coursework. 

How has your time at the University of Nottingham shaped your career so far?

My time at the University of Nottingham helped me in securing a funded PhD position at Michigan State University. Most of the concepts learned at the UoN have been applicable and helpful in my research and I intend to still leverage more on the knowledge gained at the UoN as I work towards my dissertation.

What advice would you give to current or prospective students who want to study an engineering degree at Nottingham?

I will advise them to apply to the UoN. There is funding available for different students. I am a beneficiary of the Developing Solutions Scholarship which helped me offset most of my tuition fee.
