Electric Motorcycle
The task is to design an Electric Motorcycle for the UK market, considering the style, safety, and comfort as well as the efficiency and ease of use. The Bike needs to be agile and easy to ride in a tight city environment and improve on existing products through larger storage and more adjustability. The design has been inspired by classic cafe racers from the 20th century, whilst maintaining a sense of technological relevance by highlighting the more modern features like the battery and the motor. Also the position of the powerful LED lights on the bike have been considered to provide maximum visibility on the road, improving rider safety.
It has been designed with comfort in mind with a long seat and lots of adjustability to help it fit the users body. The Firefly is suited to any environment with a rugged reinforced frame made from stainless steel to avoid corrosion. Thrill seekers will enjoy the relatively low weight combined with the power provided by the 4000w motor and sports grade suspension system from K-Tech.
The primary use envisioned for this product is as a commuter vehicle. Considering the cost of an annual London tube pass as £2000, and the Firefly's retail price of £5999, it is an appealing option to consumers, paying for itself in under three years. The bike is nimble meaning it can successfully navigate busy city streets and with a range of 120 miles it can handle most reasonable daily commutes.

Student Biography
I’ve had a love for all things design and engineering since I was young, particularly in their connection with people. For me it’s all about hard work and a keen eye for detail – there’s no shirking attentiveness. I believe my greatest strength is in the initial development of concepts and product visualisation. Get involved early and you can really make a difference is my view. In addition to being passionate about design, I am a keen cook, surfer and cyclist. They keep me connected to people and the world around me. I hope you enjoy the work I've put forward here. I’d love to hear from you if you’d like to know more about this or any of the other projects I’ve been working on.
