My name is Jiejun Liang, I am a Third year Product design and Manufacture student from China. Throughout the study of product design, I have developed strong design and drawing skills. After 3 years of study, my modelling skills and rendering skills have strongly developed, allowing me to take on design projects on my own. I am a fast learner with a strong desire to learn new things, work conscientiously and responsibly. My six years of international life and learning experience make me capable of cross-cultural communication skills. I am optimistic, persistent, daring to face difficulties and challenges. I also have strong team working skills and am able to complete tasks independently.

I undertook a six month internship at Logitech group in Shanghai headquarters as a B2B product intern during my second year of studying at university. I was responsible for all the video product management including updating the product specification and marketing information. I also provided training for the sales staff, enhancing their knowledge of the company products. Through this internship, I was able to develop strong product marketing skills.

I was also a product management intern for two months at Midea group. My job was to monitor the product marketing information such as price, selling amount in different countries, and updates to the team allowing them to have a better view of the product selling status in different countries and change any marketing price or stock amount anytime.

OPod

Nowadays, with the increase in bikes around the globe, the demand for bicycle shelter is increasing. However, this leads to the issue of bicycle parking. To solve this problem, this modern design concept of bicycle parking pod has been designed which is named as OPod.

The OPod is designed to park at least 5 bikes at one time, it is equipped with sliding doors, cover protection, a 7-inch touch screen, built-in lock, associated mobile app and electric hoist. The OPod is fully covered by metal roofing which gives full weather protection for the bike, preventing rusting. The touch screen on the OPod is for users to monitor the availability of the parking slot and allow them to control the electric hoist.

All bikes will be parked vertically, this is to reduce the space it occupies in the area. The bike will be lifted by the electric hoist, taking consideration for children and the elderly who may not have enough strength to lift the bike up.

The OPod even has an associated mobile app. This app allows users to locate the nearest OPod around them and provide navigation. The app also provides booking services for users, users can reserve a parking space for their bike before they arrive at the location. For design purposes, the OPod floor is made of antiskid board. The antiskid board could help prevent the bike rear wheel from swaying during the lifting process. After the front wheel is fixed onto the lifting platform. Because the front wheel can revolve which mean the rest of the bike will sway around during the lifting process. Each bike slots have a groove for loading the bike, this groove which has a minimum width for the wheel to prevent the bike from swaying. The lifting module consists of 3 parts which is a lifting platform and an electric hoist. The lifting platform is connected to the electric hoist through a steel wire. The lifting platform has a built-in lock, after the front wheel is loaded onto the platform which will give pressure to release the spring that hold the lock and lock up the front wheel.

The OPod has an area of 5.4 square meter which is less than a car park space. To avoid any potential neighbourhood disturbance, the OPod will be premanufactured in the factory and then it will transported to the relevant location.
