My name is Yuan Kai Liu, comes from Taiwan. I am eager to find industrial design, concept design chance or other jobs related to product design. I am able to implement 3D projects that require skills for Solid work, Blender. I am highly motivated to face challenges and willing to learn new skills. I joined a student start up team that dedicated to improve the elder life quality through product development. Our product included thermos cup, water bottle which can avoid elder get chocked when drinking. My role in the team is to design the product that can assist elder living, making animation to present and explain our product.

I join the Shang Ten product design studio in China Ningbo city when I studied first year in university. I participant the mosquito lamp design project, garden lamp project during the time. I responsible for delivering the concepts through sketches, Solid work modeling and meeting with our consumers to understand their requirements.

I participant the Bolon Taipei company as an intern during my summer vocation. I responsible for the work as assisting building the company website, participating their product development.

My project name is here, I want to design a product that can break the distance constrain between people. The purpose of this product is to provide a way to let users feel they are staying together with the one they care though they are separated by distance.

There are lots of ways to let people communicate remotely, such as sending messages, having a call or video call. But communicating with each other is not enough to let people feel they are accompanied by others. The solution I made for the purpose is designing a small interactive robot that users can make it as a medium to interact with others. User can use the app on their device (smart phone or computer) to control their friends robot in order to see through the robot and talk through the robot, the robot will perform the sticker vividly by showing emotion on OLED screen and moving its hands and head during the call or message.

It can also be a tech pet to accompany with users or setting it with more potential function. Users can bring it when traveling, having meals in restaurant or just put on desk. People who called the owner of the product can control the movement of the robot freely through the app in their device. They can interact with each other as the way they meet in person. Because users can control the head part of the product, so they can look around freely just like using their own eyes, unlike the way people having face time through just phone that their site is constrained. It can provide a more immersive face time experience.

The speaker is like the mouth of the one who calls users, and the microphone is their ears. The microphone is designed in both sides so they can know the direction the voice comes from so they can make the product face toward the sound.

Facial expressions: People can send the vivid stickers to users to show their real time emotion whether during face time or letting messages. The product will perform the emotion by having animation on its screen, shaking hands and heads or making sounds. The control system is composited by one main Arduino NANO board and one sub board, the system is written in the main board that users can control system through blue tooth and Wi-Fi. The main board receiving the signal form head part and making order to them. It also making order to sub board. The sub board receiving orders form main board and sharing some calculation, its main responsibility is to control the neck and hands moving system.
