This is Catalyst, the solution to Electric Vehicle cable management.

With the uptake of EV’s on the rise, the emerging charging infrastructure needs support. Currently EV users have to store a long cable untidily in their boot, dirtying their car and themselves when handling the cable, as well as a lengthy process untangling the cable and plugging it in. The long wire, often knotted, on footpaths/car parks etc. also causes a trip hazard to pedestrians.

Catalyst solves these problems, keeping the cable stored neatly when not in use, and only exposing the required lengths of the cable when charging. The box sits on top of the tyre, lifting it out of puddles and making it ergonomic to use. The retractable system dramatically shortens the time to plug and unplug the car, and the bristles surrounding the port remove any dirt keeping the cable clean.

The product has been sustainably designed considering materials, manufacturing and end of life. Each part is attached using removable fittings, meaning any element can be individually repaired or replaced without having to buy a whole new product, also making it recyclable.

The product has been designed to make it easy for the user to insert their own cable that came with their car, making Catalyst universally compatible with all EV’s.
