History of architectural representations
We are looking for a PhD student who is interested in exploring the history of architectural representations. Topics of any time period and any subject will be considered. Those that engage with the historical, social, and intellectual circumstances that gave rise to different forms of knowledge in and about architecture will be given precedence. We also encourage applications from those interested in working on non-Western topics.
This exciting opportunity is based within the Architecture, Culture and Tectonics research group, in the Department of Architecture and Built Environment, which conducts cutting edge research into architectural history, theory, and criticism, where you will work with leading scholar and architectural historian Jordan Kauffman, PhD.
Candidate requirements
We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated, resourceful PhD Student who will thrive doing independent research and interacting with other PhD students working across multiple fields. You will ideally have experience writing historical work or analysing art or architectural representations.
- 1st or a 2:1 in Architecture or adjacent field and an English qualification of 6.5 in IELTS (no less than 6.0 in each element)

- This studentship is available to UK and international candidates
- Excellent candidates may be eligible for partial or full scholarship (stipend and fees)
- Starting date is negotiable
