Biographical details

Born in Fontibón, Colombia, on 25 December 1812, he studied in Havana and in the United States. He was a lawyer, parlementario, journalist, university professor, historian and writer, who founded the magazine El Neogranadino. He contributed to newspapers El Correo, El Siglo, El Libera,El Reporterio,El Museo and El Tiempo. He died on 21 May 1882. (Ardila, 26).

He used the pseudonym Alpha.
