Biographical details

She was born in Salta in 1796, her mother was from the Güemes family. She supported the independence movement and was among a group of women who sewed uniforms for the Ejército del Norte. She married Dr Pedro Antonio Arias Velázquez, a lawyer of the independence movement; they had 11 children. She was widowed in 1834 and died at her Salta finca, La Isla, on 24 February 1873.
